Nigeria
Nigeria, located in West Africa along the Gulf of Guinea, is the continent’s most populous country. Its name derives from the Niger River. Nigeria shares borders with Benin, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon. As a federal republic, it is divided into 36 states and one territory. The capital is Abuja, while since 2023 the country has been led by President Bola Tinubu. Nigeria is a member of the African Union and ECOWAS. The climate varies from tropical in the south to semi-arid in the north. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from November to March.
