North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, is located in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula in East Asia. The country shares borders with China, Russia, and South Korea. Pyongyang, the capital, is also North Korea’s largest city. The landscape is predominantly mountainous, with Mount Paektu rising to 2,744 meters as the country’s highest peak. The climate is temperate, featuring cold winters and warm summers. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, when temperatures are pleasant and the natural scenery bursts with vibrant colors.
